Resident Artist Program

CALL FOR RESIDENT ARTISTS

This residency will run from August 27, 2021 until May 2022 (final date TBD by artist's gallery show dates)

In exchange for 25 hours of work per week, HopeCAT will house 2-3 artists in our Resident Artist house (free of charge) to complete residencies at our center.  The hours worked will mainly be focused on teaching the Youth Arts program alongside our Teaching Artists in various studios.  Details for each studio are listed below, as well as photographs to give you better visuals if possible. 

Resident Artists will receive:
  • 24 hour access to the building
  • Free materials 
  • Unlimited use of studio spaces (details below)
  • One gallery showing at the end of the residency
  • Access to our network of professionals

Resident Artists will have the opportunity of:
  • Teaching Adult Art Classes for profit 
  • Managing HopeCAT social media accounts for pay
  • Selling artworks through our galleries
  • Using our center to create a working portfolio (professionally or to use for grad apps)
  • Participating in our bi-annual art sales (Winter Holiday sale and Mother's Day sale)
  • Experiencing any workshops that may be scheduled during the year at our center

Living Information

Our Resident Artist house sits at the end of the driveway to our parking lot, which doesn't get more convenient!  Resident artists have 24-hour access to the building to utilize the studio spaces as they see fit.  The house is split into two apartments, with the first floor being occupied by other tenants (it's our TA... no worries).  The upstairs apartment is reserved for our RAs and includes:
