Our Focus:

HopeCAT prepares adults for careers with vocational training distinctive for our market-based approach. We meet with local businesses and other institutions to gauge employment needs, then work with those employers to develop coursework that prepares students for in-demand careers both in and outside of our community. 


Current Programs

Construction Trades:

​Degree: Diploma
Course Length: 218 Hours

Cost: $8,125

​
*A one-time institutional grant is available for those who qualify*

The Construction Trades (CT) Training Program is designed to teach entry-level core skills necessary to enter the residential and commercial construction trades. Skills include safety, hand/power tool usage, framing and concrete. Students will also gain an introduction to and hands-on experience of most construction components including carpentry, roofing, electrical and plumbing.

Emergency Medical Technician:

Degree: PA State Certification
Course Length: 160 Hours
Cost: $1,200


*Financial Assistance is available for qualified applicants age 18+*

We are working with professionals in the field to deliver top notch education. With our collaboration with McGonigle Ambulance Service, we aim to provide the region with highly needed EMTs.

Medical Assistant:

​Degree: Diploma
Course Length: 8 months
Cost: $15,625


*A one-time institutional grant is available for those who qualify*
​

​Our Medical Assistant Program (MA) provides our students with an excellent education in order to enter the medical field.  The program consists of 7 months of classroom instruction, followed by a 4-week externship at various medical facilities in our community.  Within 8 months, at no cost to our students, you can graduate from our diploma program and sit for a national certification.  We work with our students and our affiliates to help HopeCAT graduates obtain jobs paying livable wages with benefits.

This program runs once yearly from early September through June.
